How precision intelligence helped prevent systemic collapse.

January 2024 — January 2025. A nation primed for collapse. Every major institution — DHS, FBI, Stanford Polarization Research Lab, PRRI, the U.S. Capitol Police — assessed mass political violence as a material risk through Inauguration Day 2025. Data showed conflict entrepreneurs becoming progressively more active, using statements by officials and current events to incite their networks toward violence. Direct intervention would activate them. The objective: reduce societal tolerance of conflict entrepreneur activity. Norm non-violence. Develop individual agency to counter conflict entrepreneurial activity. The intervention: a coordinated media intervention offering a counter-narrative, built on filmed testimonies from a wide spectrum of Americans who share their fears, perceptions, and hopes for the country. Coordinated with law enforcement, local politicians, community organizers, bridge builders, Common Ground USA, Search for Common Ground, Media Monks, and Stanford Polarization Research Lab.

Pre-election research found Americans overestimated opposing-party support for political violence by 245–445%. They believed the other side was far more accepting of violence than the other side actually was. That misperception was the permission structure conflict entrepreneurs exploited. Filmed encounters showed Americans across political lines expressing the same unifying themes — fear, hope, exhaustion with division. Viewers watched their assumptions about "the other side" break in real time. The dissonance forced a re-evaluation: "If they think what I think, the story I've been told is wrong." We didn't argue with people. We let them see what they had been wrong about.

Civic Custodian Discovery: Political psychographics × consumer data led to the identification of a new archetype, 'Civic Custodian' that could influence conflict entrepreneurs.

Academic Grounding: Consultation with Stanford's Polarization Research Lab yielded relevant evidence-based norms and change practices.

Filmed Anecdotes: The collection of anecdotes from a diverse spectrum of Americans, representing the census, revealed unifying narratives in their own voices

Tiered Deployment: Three-tiered media on Meta and YouTube, distributed nationally across key battleground states with histories of political violence, coordination with law enforcement, grassroots organizations, and community organizers

The decision window is not when action becomes more expensive. It is when options cease to exist. Prevention and reversal are categorically different in kind, not just in cost.
